1997 xp wont start

when i put the key in i get two beeps then i press the start button and absolutley nothing happens. it doesnt crank at all. the gauges come on. any ideas of what this is?

Solenoid

Check the solenoid, jump the two main posts with an old screwdriver, see if the engine turns over.
