1997 xp - what do you think it's worth

I'm thinking of buying a 1997 Seadoo XP just to pull the engine out and put it in my Challenger.

How much do you think the hull would be worth- everything besides the long block. Trying to find out how much I would be able to sell it for once I take the motor out.

You could piece it out and sell just parts off of it like all the pump components, the seat, gauges, oil injection system and mpem. If all those parts are good, you could easily sell them. I would think you could get at least $1000 for all the parts not including the hull. The mpem alone can get you $300.

Sounds promising, I found one with a new SBT motor for $1200. I hope to recoup most of the cost.

You should be able to easily make that up. Does it come on the trailer? Thats another 200 to 300.

You might find someone who would buy it without the engine, But really I think you could part it all out and make the money back the easiest. Besides the parts I already listed, there are more that people need. The extra stuff off the engine, some body stuff like the mirrors. I think you would do fine with it.

i've been try'n to parts/sell parts from a 97spx and 96xp for the last 2yrs. Be prepared to sit on these parts for awhile.

Yeah thats the down side to it. You may have to sit on them a while and hit every message board and put them on ebay.
