Have you checked the ground cable from the battery to block. The notorious for breaking in the jacket. Check resistance

I’d hate to bump this but I’m lost at what to do and I’m not sure if I should return the mpem
Do you have the wiring diagram for your ski? That should tell you where the wires (different colors) should be going to.

OK, so what do we think we know:

1) the ski wakes up when you press the S/S button - mpem sees battery power, that's good, mpem probably OK
2) no solenoid click when you push the S/S button - so, assuming you DESS key is recognized (double beep from buzzer), the mpem should see the button push (coming on the Yellow/red wire from the S/S button and send that directly to the solenoid, the solenoid should bridge the posts internally and send battery power to the starter. NO SOLENOID CLICK means there might be a break in that wire path.

Your solenoid should be grounded to the ignition coil bottom post, the actual attachment bolts of the solenoid are not your ground path.

BTW: The RED/purple wire out of (and into) the mpem typically keeps DC electric on the wire back to the battery to keep the battery fresh for the next start cycle (when needed)...it may also branch off to the info guage to indicate 12V low (if the battery is weak).

I’ll definitely check the ground cable when I get the chance. Also the solenoid was grounded to the ignition coil, it was pretty rusty but I did clean it up. I’ll try re cleaning all of those connections and seeing how it goes, I may even swap the whole rear e-box with my xp and see if that will get it to start

I've been down this road myself.....check all the wiring paths/harnesses for continuity through the ski....a very small bit of corrosion will stop voltage in its path....open all harness connections, check, clean, wiggle, test.

All wiring connections should be clean, bright and tight....little dabs of dielectric grease once everything is clean won't hurt either....test and verify everything...doesn't cost anything but a little time (that could pay big dividends).

Those 6 pin connectors on top of the rear black eboxes can corrode and lose connections also sometimes they dnt get plugged in all the way etc. As Ckrawiec says, check that yellow/red wire that goes to the rear ebox and connects to your starter solenoid in the ebox…..make sure there is continuity etc.

Ive had to rewire the entire rear black eboxes on my two skis because I was chasing issues like you currently are. Hope you get it figured out.

So I ended up swapping rear eboxes with my 96 xp and it fired right up. I tried cleaning the original rear ebox multiple times with no success, there must be a break in some of the wires in there. Anyway nick is getting me a new rear ebox and it’s all fixed. Huge thanks to nick from westside powersports
