Hey guys I’m new to this forum and pretty new to seas doo’s. I am mechanically inclined and looking for help. I have 97 Spx with the 787 cc motor. It has a fresh rebuild and carb rebuild 12 hours. I took the ski out this Saturday and it ran great for about an hour I was WOT when I accidentally knocked the key off. It started back up ran fine for about 5 minutes then started to act like it was running out of fuel. But I had over half tank. I got it back to the dock and that was it. It became near impossible to start. Took it home took the carbs off but they were spotless. Cleaned the water separator/ fuel filter it was also spotless. Put it all back together and it fired right up one time. I checked I have good blue spark to both cylinders, cleaned all the connections on the coil and battery. Took it to the lake today and it wouldn’t start after about 30 minutes and small spray of starter fluid it fired up but, it took off and would start to bog as I gave it throttle! It would stay running as long as I stayed at less than have throttle but would bog and surge. Once I turned it off it wouldn’t fire again. I also put brand new plugs. I put 40:1 premix in the tank as well as the oil tank is full. A friend recommended it! Also when it’s running it will not idle at all must feather the throttle to keep it going. It does have the original fuel lines I know those must go. Looking for ideas of what to replace/repair to get my ski going.

Also I do not get any beep sounds when I install the key.

Thanks in advance.

I had a similar sure of problem last time I was out. Run for a few hours but in the way back when ever I pull full throttle it would bog like it was gonna cut out. Fine at half throttle. Not had chance to check anything yet.

The idling issue could mean you need to adjust the throttle. Should tick over at about 1300rpm in the water. Could also be stick RAVE valves. Quite a simple job cleaning then and might solve the problem.

Right on. I clean the rave valves. Looks easy. Let me know if you find out your throttle issue. I’m replacing all my fuel lines today.
