My wife has a 97 XP and it has been sitting for years. It needs some visual TLC... as well as the top end of the engine is toast! Not sure about the rest of the internals. I was going to try the minor stuff like changing the plugs, etc to see what all it needed done... but noticed quite a lot of rust on the plugs when i took them out. I pulled off the head cover and it isn't pretty! Looks like corrosion city!

Anyway, long story short, going to just get rid of it. It is on a dual trailer... just wondering what is realistic value to put on it for sale?

Any advice or info would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Honestly the trailer is probably worth more than the ski, if the motor in the ski is a rebuildable core, the ski is worth maybe $500.00 if not maybe $200.00.

He was close to my guess . ^ .
I would say $ 700 would be a good.
A NICE double trailer will go around $500 over here . All depends on area prices though . Goodluck with the sale .

ok cool! thanks for the info.

I am really clueless to the whole jetski world so appreciate the help! i'll just throw it up on craigslist and see what works out!

thanks again!

if it was a 951 w/a double trailer, i'd offer $800 if EVERYTHING worked. Speedo, tach, etc.

make sure whoever buys it does the WHOLE engine. just a top end on a 16 year old engine won't end well.

IMO... put it up for $750 and take the first $500 that comes along. the 97's don't draw much attention and even one that is running, clean inside and out, on a single trailer in great shape will only fetch $1600 on a good day. (I know this for a fact, I had one for sale for 45 days at that price)

perhaps you'll get lucky and somebody will pay close to your asking price because they think the trailer is worth $500, but in FL, its hard to get retail for a trailer, everybody and their brother has one in the back yard. so realistically $4-450 is a top price for a double trailer that needs nothing... $200 ish if it needs love.. (just bought one yesterday for $150, the guy had it for sale for $300 for a month and nobody was interested) (but it needs bunks and lights, and probably bearings)it will be worth $400 if I fix everything.

yea to be completely honest, i have NO idea what else needs redoing! i don't know anything about them!

she took me on it about 7 years ago when we first started dating. all the gauges and electronics worked. flushed it out, rinsed it off and then it sat until this week! i need the space it was using so that's why i started messing with it. i read thru some forum info and was going to start getting it ready to sell. drained the gas, pulled the plugs, that's where i stopped!

trailer needs a little love too. but works. brought it home from storage no issues.
