I am talking to a guy that has a 1997 Seadoo XP. He says that it sat for 2 years and the motor was seized, but he has broken it loose. He says there is very minor rust(easily fixed with some work, may need to be honed) and no pitting. He wants $400 for the ski and trailer. I am looking for a project ski but was wondering if this is going to be worth fixing. Also any suggestions to what it would take to get this running would be helpful as well.

be all over it...

400 buks..no brainer, stud...jump some penetrating oil into cylinders for a few days, then have new battery, and shoot that crap out, go thru carbs, and as long as the fuses (especially the 5amp fuse) aren't popped, think...you scored.

Dude, a good buy, but pull the heads and look at the cylinders for yourself. Believe me when I say this, it will give you a better idea of TRUE cost on putting the ski back together.

Man, I ALMOST snagged a job in Bend Oregon last month. Thought we were gonna move to Heaven On Earth...

sorry. off topic. just hit close to home...:(

It is a cool place to live. Riding season is short though. There are NO jobs right now to be had. Nothing is made here. There is only tourist based jobs. Construction was booming, but is all but gone. We have 1 home to take us through the winter, and maybe 1-2 customs to build in the spring. I have laid off way to many. Going rate on most jobs are $10-$12 and hour. It just sucks.

The saying about Bend: Poverty with a view.
