Looking for some help with my sluggish XP. It ran great upto last year. Now it takes about 20 seconds to accelerate, no more punch.

I check the compression at about 165 psi. Replaced the RAVE valves as they were badly worn down. Performed a full carb rebuild. New gas and oil.

Still no luck.

I've read some of the latest threads and it looks like the impeller to wear ring clearance may cause sluggish acceleration. I'll check this next weekend.

Any other thoughts on what to check?

Thanks in advanced.

search - Cavitation. Is it acting like a slipping clutch and has full RPM? = wear ring.
Hesitating, turning off, no power at Hi-lo rpm? = no compression or fuel starvation.
After reading your Shop Manual, please describe more in detail.

Yes, its acting like a slipped clutch. I'll check the clearance between the impeller blades and the wear ring.

Thanks for the help.
