Hello Everyone!
I have a '97 Seadoo XP that I just bought a few months ago. First time out on the water, it ran for about 30-45 minutes, then all of a sudden died, and immediately started to sink. We got it home, and saw that the driveshaft boot had ripped, allowing water to flood the hull. We replaced the driveshaft boot, and noticed that when we rev the engine, the boot would torque and we also noticed the driveshaft had a small amount of wobble in the carbon seal area. This ski's engine is more towards the front of the ski, which we are unfamiliar with. After replacing the boot, we took it out again. Everything went smoothly until we were about 45 minutes into our ride. Again, the engine died, and the ski immediately started to sink. Got it home, and the exact same scenerio as before. Torn boot again.
Has anyone had this problem before with their XP?? We are at a loss now, we have no idea what to do to keep this ski afloat! LOL
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
