I have a 1997 seadoo GSX 787CC N/A with VTS, it was jumped with a jump starter now I have no beeps, no lights on gauge even pressing start/stop 5 times. I am positive the MPEM is the problem. The stater the grounds and battery have checked out fine, the connection all clean and I have power going thew the MPEM and NO blown fuses. Somethings bad in the MPEM and I really want to find out what has likely blown inside I would like to try fixing this one before buying a new one for $600 I don’t have money like that. Please anything will help, anyone have an idea about what diode or something to look for upon taking the computer apart. Thank you-John

Call Westside Powersports and see what they can get you a good tested used MPEM for. It should be much less than $600...

Hey i spoke with Nick great guy he explained that this 1997 GSX I have is a one year model part at least for the MPEM he is the one who told be $675 for a used one or $800 for a oem new in box. Has Anyone fixed these computors before or is mine a paper weight now

Also no burnt fuses and I have power traveling to MPEM and out to gaugues but nothing when press start stop with key out nothing with key in...

I forgot you had that oddball MPEM for the ‘97... You can try to keep troubleshooting on the off chance that it’s something outside of the computer, or you can do a search on trying to remove the potting and replace the diode in the MPEM, but there’s a good chance that you’re going to have to bite the bullet and get the new computer. Unfortunately that’s the gamble you make when you jump these things.,.

Wow!! That's good to know! I must have got lucky when I jump started mine!
Yes, never, ever jump start a Sea Doo. This is especially important on the boats and the skis with low production MPEM’s since they are rare and expensive to replace...
