Hey everyone,

so i got my seadoo out to start put a brand new battery in charged it all up pass a cold test and i plugged my key in and the screen won't even light up! I'm unsure of where to start right now, pretty upset actually, has anyone had this problem or know where to begin?

Jump the solenoid. If it cranks it will tell us how to better help you. If not, also tells us how to help you.

Jump the two post on bottom of solenoid. Use a flat head screwdriver. ..key doesn't have to be in

Rear black ebox...next to battery. Open it up and you should see a solenoid with power wires looping through. Two post with nuts on them...jump there

i pulled that box out last night and it had water in the bottom of it and the terminals were all rusted on the bottom one
so maybe thats whats wrong? how much is one of the solenoids worth?

That would do it. Probably need to replace all that in box. Starter solenoid is about $30

On mine it's in front of the battery. It's the box that the spark plug leads go back to. Remove the cover the solenoid is in there.

at the very least al the components need to be taken apart and cleaned up. Water in the box shorts things out. Pretty much like running a wire to all the terminals.

My main concern is that I plug my key in and doesn't beep and the digital screen doesn't turn on. No power to the front

I think the power goes through rear Ebox then to front mpem. Can someone confirm this

Solenoid sends power to starter...but you have fuses in there and cdi

Ok,, Lets step back a moment,,,

We often ask members to jump the solenoid as it helps to determine a logical direction in regards to how to better help you. For example, if you were to jump it and NOTHING happens we know you have a battery, cable, connection issue or a junk starter. On the same token, if you jump it and it sparks and cranks, all the above mentioned items are good. And,, if you jump it and it sparks but does not crank, chances are the starter is bad.

So to be clear, we use it as a diagnostic tool to help us help you.

If you have water in the E-box, you MUST service this. Everything needs to be removed and all terminal ends cleaned, any and all connections cleaned and it should be reassembled using dielectric grease as the grease will help prolong the connectrions.

So in your case, doe the work in the E-box and check all fuses.

But it would not hurt to jump the solenoid as this will still tell us things.

Thanks for everyone's help! I was home at lunch and found a loose cable end! Started up like it was a new 2014 seadoo!

Thanks again!!
