1997 gtx information display reading

I have a 1997 gtx that has been freshly rebuilt. I have about 4 hours on the new rebuild and everything is running great. This weekend when I took it to the lake I noticed that when you plug the key in it flashes "MAINT" for a few seconds and then goes back to the regular display screen. Everything still seems to be running great. How do I figure out what maintenance it is wanting?

maint comes on at regular hourly intervals, just press and hold set and mode for a few seconds and it will clear, the newer models require the dealer to hook up to BUDS to clear.
