I bought a 1997 Sea Doo Challenger that has been having nothing but issues thus far. The latest- trying to get any water fouled oil out of the oil cavity and crankcase. It looks like the previous owner already knew of some leaking and added the valve on the oil line to help slow this down. Would have been nice to know but now its my problem. Has anyone had any previous experience with removing the drain plug from the bottom of the cavity near the PTO Flywheel? There are other posts for similar engines that have done this but I am looking for more specifics with the 787 Rotax that was built with the ability to add and drain oil. The shop manual shows a very easy to read diagram but actually locating this has been a whole lot more complicated. The top plug is easy to find and pictured attached with what may be the drain plug or bolt.
I'm hoping to avoid the rebuild of the inner seals for at least the rest of this season and get this engine cleared out and running. Pics of the manual are attached but any pics from someone with the actual plug or guidance would be helpful.
