Hey all - I've got a 1996 XP 800cc. After sitting over night, I can get it started easily, and away I go. It runs very strong. Then, 5 or 10 minutes later when I stop and kill the engine - I have a VERY hard time getting it started again. So much so that I'm killing the battery.

It takes like 2 minutes of trying until it finally starts. I think I've noticed that holding the throttle wide open when trying to start it helps. I SeaDoo mechanic once told me never to use choke, so I don't.

Any ideas? Has anyone experienced this? It's almost like perhaps it's flooded, but why would it be in this scenario?

if hold'n throttle open to get it fired "better", then your needles are leaking. Pull carbs off, go thru them. Hows the compression? You can always install primer kit, and dump the choke, if needed.
