I am buying a Speedster with a missing 720 motor. I have an extra 650 motor. Will it fit? Is there a significant difference between the two? It look like there is only a 5HP difference.

it'll fit, but you'll need the 720 flywheel and stator for it to work. Will the 650 work?...It is 5hp difference, cross-reference the impellors from Skat-Trak/Impros website, to see if they're running the same/close.

It will fit... and using the 720's rev limiter... it will probably make that extra 5 hp... but what you don't see in the specs is a torque difference. If your pump is in good shape, the 650 will have a hard time pushing the pump to it's peak RPM's

But... the short answer is... yes it will work, and since you already have the engine... it's a cheap way to get out on the water.

Oh... almost forgot... you will need to use the 650's CDI/coil. The 720 may work, but I'm unsure of the timing.

Good luck

Thanks for the answers. I decided not to buy it. It was rougher then I had hoped and the motor that was in it was frozen and full of water.
