I have a 1996 speedster with twin 717 engins. I bought this boat about 2 years ago. I have had nothing but problems. I have replaced one engine, replaced the mpem, rebuilt both jet pumps, and had all 4 carburetors rebuilt.
When the carburetors were rebuilt I was told that the boat was probably sunk at one point. Now, the carbs are installed and the new engine rubs perfectly.
But the original engine is not running well. It will start everytime and idle perfectly. But when I accelerate it will bog down and die. If I play with the throttle enough I can get it rev out for a second and then it will die again.
The engine has 135 psi compression in the mag cylinder, and 140 psi in the pto cylinder. I have tried adjusting the low speed needle and it has no effect on it.
I have no idea where to go from here. Please Help!!!
