Hey guys just got a quick question. The exhaust hose going from the water box to out the back of the jet ski, i think its a little soft. Where is the best place to get a new one? I have my ski all apart right now redoing it from the ground up. I didn't have a problem with it over summer but don't want one this coming summer.

Thanks

contact Minnetonka4me , if he doesn't have a brand new one, he's probably got one in much better condition than yours.

Ive got some that are alright....but they all are pretty soft these days.

I also sell some silicone kits but they are really for mod machines and arent cheap.

also would you have the front bumper to a 95 hx? If so how much shipped to 45822. Thanks

Why couldn't we install a large spring into the tube like marine engine cooling hoses have? It would help to keep the hose from deflating.

The other option is to make your own pipe using couplings and aluminum tubes for an automotive turbo kit. They come with different bend's and all you need is 3-4 elbow's and a few straight sections.

i didnt know that they had springs in the tubes on the marine engines? I think im going to try and come up with something.

I understand soft exhaust hoses are bad and will cause running problems. My question is how? Does the hose collapse? I can't see how it would collapse with exhaust (pressure) running through it but what do I know??

I hear ya.. And how is there not a single radiator hose from the millions of crap-turd cars out there that won't fit perfectly or somewhat close the the bend of a seadoo??

Um... had to think about this one.

Try this. Open your mouth and blow. Easy.

Then try closing your lips and blow. Funny as hell but much more difficult to get the same volume of air out.

I think that about sum's it up :P

A bit of Brapp with a little more PTPTPTPTPTPTP lol

If I'm understanding what you're saying then I'd be able to look at my exhaust hose and see that it's collapsed, right?

Might not be collapsed completely but it would be elliptical rather than round and you could squeeze it shut easily.

I can't say for sure what hapen's but In theory, heat, oil and a resonance wave could be weakening the pipe in one spot and as it collapses or stretches and retracts that one spot could cut lots of the flow off and create a hot sport that speeds up the process.

A standing wave comes to mind where the pipe would be stretched apart on the crest's and relaxed on the crofts. I think the pipe would actually try to stretch and reduce in certain spots.

I think that a dryer hose with the spring removed could be used for this. Just take the material off and wind the spring around something smaller to reduce the size and then wind it into the exhaust hose so that it expands and keeps the hose from being able to collapse.
