 Hey guys I have a 1996 seadoo spx. This past weekend I was out on the lake in really rough water and it was working fine and then all of the sudden I lost my speed. The motor runs great, revs up but it just wont go anywhere... I could hear alot of vibrating in the engine bay but can't figure out what the problem is. Any Ideas where to start? Also this has been a problem for quite some time, when I am hulling ass across the water and then let off the throttle, the seadoo starts bogging and then after a while regains the speed. Any help on these two problems would be great. Thanks all!!

Wear Ring

The first problem sounds like the wear ring. Remove the steering nozzle, check the wear ring look for any missing pieces, and check the clearance between the impeller and the wear ring, it should be no more than .040". While you are there check the impeller for dents, dings.

Do you still have the grey tempo fuel lines?

Thanks for the reply, I will definatly check the wear ring tonight. Yes I have the grey tempo fuel lines, Should I change them? Could that be the problem with the bogging?

Grey Fuel Lines

Yes you should change the gray fuel lines. Use 1/4" black fuel line hose, you'll need about 20', 25' if you also change the vent lines (I didn't), and about 20 stainless steel hose clamps.

You will also need to change or replace the main fuel filter and 2 carb. filters, 1 in each carb. And change the fuel selector valve.

The problem is the grey fuel lines deterioate and produce a green goo that goes everywhere in the fuel delivery system.
