I have a 1996 seadoo sportster. Last season I put a new motor in from sbt. everything worked well. The only issue i have is that when i first take off it seems to smoke alot and doest really move out of its own way. It seems to take way to long to plain out but once it does the boat runs great at wot. I dont know if i possibly adjusted the inection mixture cable wrong (allowing the boat to b given to much oil) or if this is something that can be adjusted on the carb. With 3 people on the boat i have to get someone to sit in the front in order for it to plain out. I have checked the plugs n notice they are usually a little dark. I change them a few times a season. If anyone has any input for my problem i would appreciate your feedback. Thank, Bobby

Same issue

I have recently purchashed a 1996 Challenger with the 110 hp. I also noticed the same issues with it . Not too much smoking but take off and getting on plane was an issue in the fall. I thought maybe the carbs need cleaned and will check into it this spring but I am curious to hear what the rest have to say.

pump assy

you both need to pull the pumps and inspect/replace either/both the wearring and/or the impellor. Thats the root cause of "no thrust" at take-off.

I believe the impeller is new..it looks like its in good shape....the wear ring I remember has a few lines it maybe it needs to be replaced...thanks for the input -Bobby
