1996 GTX - I'm pulling the carbs off to clean and possibly rebuild and I'm also replacing some old fuel lines and filters. I just got the breather box off and I'm not sure exactly where to go from here. I know I need to disconnect the fuel and oil lines and throttle linkage - is there any specific order it needs to be done in? I cant tell exactly how\where the carbs are mounted? I know they will both come off at the same time and I read that there are four bolts that would to to be removed for them to come out? Any help or links (pics) would be appreciated.

thanks guys.

I'm guessing this is on a 951 engine?
If so....
Undo the bolts holding your elctric box and move it out the way, remove battery, this will allow you the room to get the big air box out-then remove the choke cable-either by loosining little grub screws or undoing the pivot arm, then remove pulse line, fuel in and out, then undo the 4 bolts holding carbs-two on top and two underneath-you will have to feel for them, take them out, now carbs will be free (if not undo the bolt on side of header pipe-sometimes this is gone) now you can tilt carbs to get to throttle linkage, create some slack and pop it out-you can now remove the carbs to rebuild/clean. Any probs give me a shout.

nah this is a 787. first take a couple pictures so you can use them for a referance if you get confused. remove and label the fuel lines, pluse line and choke/ throtle cables. then remove the bolts holding both carbs to the intake and remove them togather.
