1996 GTX SEADOO has no power

ok well it will run but there is no speed and the rpms are high when u give it throttle there is no power and the water that comes out the back is limited
plz help what do i need to do to fix this problam

how is your prop and wear ring? Is it possiably cavitating?

the prop is fine how can i find out about the wear ring

Seadoo's don't have props...they have impellers. Check the clearance between the center of the impeller blade and the wear ring. The maximum limit is .040". if its close or more, it is past the service limit. If there are large gouges in the wear ring it might be time to replace it too.

the wear ring fits in around the impeller. it takes the wear instead of the surrounding metal parts. try searching and you should find info. i would recomend finding a shop manual for your ski.

Look over this diagram, the wear ring is item 8 --> http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche.com/seadooforums/Seadoo_oem/Seadoo_PWC.asp?Type=13&A=39&B=18, your ski has a reverse bucket and to see any of this stuff it must be if the forward position - you will need a flashlight to look into the nozzle - if you can fir a manila file folder in between the rign and the impellor then the ring is worn away, many times rocks, barnches and sand have the biggest effect on the rings itself.
