I replaced the driveline oring with the recommended C clip #272000135. On my 1996 GSX the stainless piece slid over the C clip. Not happening on the GTI? Any suggestions or thoughts?

I found this pic from someone else and it looks similar to mine. Maybe it's normal?

It should slide over more. Is the clip OEM or aftermarket?

Also your stainless ring is getting pretty thin from wear.

It’s not OEM, so that could be part of the problem. I’ll pick up one at my local Seadoo dealer. I verified they had them in stock.

They have coating on them, just run it under a wire wheel or use some sand paper

It's a slight tolerance difference compared to the oem. I hit it under my wire wheel then the ss hat slid over fine.

Stainless should not have a coating on it. If these have the gold zinc coating on them they are not stainless and will rust solid. I wouldn't use them if they are not stainless.

OSD is selling these, Nick says the coating is unnessary but didn't indicate a problem if thery're ss or not. On the other forum no reports of them rusting..
