OK so like the title says, I’ve searched the form and I found a bunch of stuff, and I think I know what to do. But I just want to ask a couple more opinions. So the problem is, I replaced all the tempo fuel lines, replaced the fuel filter/housing, Replace the spark plugs, and that’s about it.
But before I go to far let me tell you what I did over this past weekend, I bought a jetski from a guy on the Facebook marketplace. They sounded great out of water and I didn’t even think to test them in the water stupid me. I did however get a half a good deal on them so I don’t want to complain too much.

Anyways so I take it down to the lake & let it warm up, it has premixed gas, and the oil tank is still there. But it’s like I have no throttle, I squeeze it down get about 10 miles an hour, and it’s just like it’s bogging and not revving. So I searched the forum and decided to replace all the stuff that I just told you I did. I did a compression test and I got 140 on mag side, and 142 on PTO side. But still no throttle response in the water.

So sorry if the story is too long, but I guess is it time for carburetor rebuild or my looking at this wrong. Is there something else I should check before I go pull in this thing off and rebuilding it.

Carb rebuild and new fuel selector valve. Only use oem on both. When cleaning the carbs spray a ton of cleaner through the jets especially the small one. Watch the carb throat when spraying to make sure your getting spray from 3 holes in the throat. Put your finger over the top , larger hole to increase spray pressure on the other 2.

Yes. Your not getting fuel. Did u have gray lines before u changed them? If so your internal fuel filters are plugged up and your fuel selector valve.

Also make sure you keep oil in the tank even though your on premix. You still need oil going to the rotary gear.

Thank you so much for the help so I just pulled both carbs off, and the internal filter on the carbs is clean is it possible that the carbs are dirty still.

Update from tonight.
So I don’t want to go cheap on the Sea-Doo, so I went ahead and bought a carburetor rebuild kit from osdparts.

Anyways for the meantime I cleaned out what I could hit with an air nozzle gun, and carb cleaner.

Now I have throttle response in the water, but I need to adjust my Ideal it sounds bad.

So now my next question is on the PTO carb I get a steady drip drip drip drip drip when I look into the carb. On the Mag side I get a drip… Drip… Drip…
Would that have something to be do with the adjustment screws.

I have the high-speed needle at “0”
I have the low at 1 1/4 turns

Also thanks mwat65

Your adjustment screws are correct. Turn your idle to 3000 rpms out of the water and that should put u at 1500 in the water.

Also the next time you have it out run it wide open and pull the lanyard . Then check your plugs. They should be medium to dark brown. You may have gotten one carb a little cleaner than the other as far as the drip goes. You can adjust the low speed 1/8 turn at a time if u need to. Let us know what your plug color is.

YOu said you "squeeze" the throttle to get 10mph. Does that mean the throttle is not going all the way to the handle bar. I had this problem last week on a ski I purchased. Whoever did the carbs let the oil pump cable come around the wrong side and the throttle was trying to pull it backwards. I pulled the carbs and did some checks. Installed the cables correctly and she ran like a dream. :)

I think he fixed the throttle issue. He’s working on getting the idle set now. Usually a rough idle means it’s set too low.

I am learning some cool stuff here. :) I wonder how many hours I have spent working on SeaDoo carbs since last year. :D :D I'm not counting the money .... ever. Ha ha

Thank you guys for the help wasn’t able to do anything today with it but I plan on doing something tomorrow I’ll let you know how it goes.

I’ll get some pictures of the plugs

All right guys so I pulled my spark plugs today at WOT And they both look good.
But now I have another problem.... no spark

I search the forms and I found some things to test the CDI and also the MPEM

So I did take off the red/black wire going to the MPEM And still no spark.

Now, “is” it time to test the coils generator and ignition. If so how is this done I’m having trouble understanding forum post

On occasion I get a no spark when the MPEM is not happy with the key so I remove and reinsert Viola ! Vroomm Vroom. :) Good Luck !!

Thanks man, I probably should’ve said this but the previous owner did away with the Dess key.
So now it’s just non-dess mpem

Check your grounds . Make sure they are clean and tight. Main ground to battery and the 5 small grounds in the gray box. Check all the connectors in the gray box also and the stator plug.

He bought a Ariltex MPEM that Does not require a dess key to it.

What’s weird is it’s worked for a couple times around the lake... then nothing

I can tell you the aftermarket MPEM's like the airtex have been very well known to be bad out of the box.

If it was running fine and then just went electrically dead and all fuses and connections are good that aftermarket MPEM would be my number 1 suspect.

If it was me I would get a tested good OEM MPEM from Nick or Jess at Westside Powersports Link.
