I have a 1995 Sportster, that does nothing when I try to start. The battery is fully charged and all the fuses are good.
1/ Can I bypass the neutral safety switch?
2/ How about the lanyard?
3/ Lastly how do I check the MPEM or can I bypass it?

Any other ideas?

does the relay click or you hear a clicking sound when start button is pushed?

Check the wires behind the key.

Nothing

I don't hear a click or anything when trying to start.
I'm going to check the wires behind dash on Tuesday and try jumping the solenoid.
Can I bypass the neutral switch or lanyard?

Maybe good news?

I took the plugs out and jumped the solenoid and got covered with antifreeze!:ack: Ironically that's good, because now I know it's not seized.
When I take the lanyard off and press the start button, the gas guage does move? Any suggestions, I'm getting desparate!

A 95 is a 2stroke, hopefully that is oil from crank seals or a motor that was fogged more than needed, keep cranking out the oily stuff and pour a coffee spoon of gas into each hole - put the plug back in and see if any hope of starting, do not lose hope, this is very common in the springtime on a older motor, after a few tries you may want to check the compression and make sure if it is a recent purchase the motor was not killed in a former life, NEVER connect a battery chrger to overcome a weak battery as this voltage will destroy the mpem module and these get really hard to find at any price.

MPEM Shot

I'm thinking my MPEM is shot.... The boat isn't worth putting alot of money into. I'm thinking of running an ignition switch and a starter button. If I ran a switch between the mag and the CDI/coil and a circuit to the starter, it should run. I realize the I won't have a rev limiter, but right now I nothing  Does this make sense or did I have too many beers?

Thanx

There is a lot more to that vintage spark system, in the interum of going to the security type lanyard your system may include a primary amplifier from the spark signal coil in the magneto housing, you could experiment with bypassing stuff, you mentioned the nuetral switch, cranking switch and the lanyard post, any of these could be faulty - trace the circuit with a ohm/volt meter to locate where the problem exists - there is a outside shop called custom something that can repair a lot of these circuit boards, you will have to hunt a bit here to find out more on that shop location.
