Hello, I have an old 95 XP with a stuck jet pump. I am trying to remove it from the ski but it will not come out. I have removed all the visible bolts the should hold it in place. What else should I try to get it out. Thanks
I went thru 12 crow-bars til I found one with the right hook. I also used an impact
gun on the threaded stud ends to break the electrolosis. The top usually has sealant
at the three thru-hull tubes. Try the loosening the bottom left & right of the pump
with CB. Bill
You also can make a tool as described in your manual.
I used a jack mounted to a 4x4. Wrapped a tow strap around the pump and jack. It's hard to break that sealant loose plus all the sealant that gets in the thru fitting.
i have seen pics of a guy who used a come along tied to a tree. just make sure the pump is supported in some way to prevent it from dropping to the ground once it lets go
bood luck
That old but great ski will need engine re-aligned before reinstalling the serviced pump, and drive seal bearing, ect. this will ensure components longest life.
