Hello,

I recently bought a broke down 1995 SeaDoo GTX.
The guy I bought it from said the carburetor needed to be rebuilt and the oil pump needed to be blocked off because it wasn’t working properly.

I rebuild both carbs with OEM Mikuni rebuild kit. And removed the gear behind the oil pump And premixed the gas 40:1

When taking it out for the first time yesterday it started bogging and misfiring 5 minutes into it.
When I let go of the throttle and gave it full throttle it had a really hard time revving back up.

when I got home I looked at the carburetor and it was full of slime, the jet ski already came with black fuel lines so I’m not sure why this is happening or if it’s normal due to the premix

I do not know about this particular engine, but I think it is oil and water mixing. Have you checked the spark plugs?

Yeah both spark plugs were brand new before I took it out and they both look black with like a shiny coat of oil or something

Looks like water to me, there could be a crack in the jugs, try running it on the hose to see if there is a leak into the engine. First though try cranking it with the plugs out, see if there is any water spraying.

If you have water ingestion, the tops of the pistons should be VERY CLEAN, possibly with no carbon deposits at all.

Haven't seen that before but it isn't good, sure looks like water ingestion.

You also can't just block off the oil pump and not run oil in these. You have to still supply oil to the rotary gear and what did you do with the oil fittings on the intake manifold?

Im not sure if it’s water. Maybe if I do a compression test It would help to see if there’s a leak. The only place I’m getting that gunk is In the carburador.
Maybe it’s coming from the gas lines? I siphoned all the old gas that was In the tank but maybe there was some goo in the bottom of the tank?

and for the oil pump, I removed the gear and put the pump back, I’m just waiting for the block off kit that’s coming in the mail.

the little fittings on the side of the intake manifold are still hooked up to the pump so there’s no vacuum leak there.

I still have the tank full of oil to lubricate the engine

yeah they are pretty dirty
Here’s a picture of both pistons

Here’s a video of it running
I set it to 3000 RPM like the manual says for when it’s out of the water

But I don’t know if this is what it’s supposed to sound like when it’s idling.

I also revved it pretty high so y’all could hear it in full throttle
