I started my ski for the first time in months

removed the fuel tank and cleaned it and cleaned all the old fuel out from the carb and fuel lines fuel bowl etc

It was starting and smoking and revving fine then it puttered out

I rechecked everything and Im not getting spark!!!

cut a small amount of wire back and replugged still nothing

pulled the two plugs and was holding them in my hand, I cranked the starter and they sparked alright! Shocked the be jesus out of me

I plugged them back into the head after putting the spark plugs back in, and now, no spark!!

What would cause no spark?

I did wash the inside of the ski when I removed the fuel tank

Could I have gotten somthing wet?

How do I check fuses? Does this model even have fuses?

The fuses are in the front e-box, and yes check those first. The fuses are automotive type so you should be able to tell just by looking, and there should be spare fuses in the e-box.

Whats voltage at batt when ski is sitting and what is it when cranking!? Also check all major pos and neg lines for tightness and or corrosion.

12.3 volts

I am charging it right now

Shows 68% charge

put it on trickl charge at 3 amps currently at 88%

Ill let it go to 95-98% and see If I get spark.

All the wiring is good!

I was holding the plugs and would get intermittent spark, then nothing

pull the plugs get spark two or three seconds after starter turns over then, no spark!

You can look in your shop manual if theres a test you can do with a multimeter if not I believe they are a $70-80 part. Hopefully somebody else can chime in and offer an alternative or test. I dont have that manual so I cant look

took carb off adjusted pop off pressure turned in the idle screw a few turns put in the fully charged battery annnnnnnd....

VOILA!!!!

I hit the start button and before she turned over a click and VROOOOM!

She idled perfect!!!!

Gonna throw in ten bucks of gas and head the the little pond blue waters!

Ill let ya know how she rides with new wear ring , carb kit, ride plate, and intake grate plus an impeller that is supposed to be best for these little 650's

Probably nothing close to the xp 800 I have but hopefully she rides like a dream after a whole winter in the shop just waiting to hit the water!
