Hello guys. So I bought a seadoo 1995 gtx as a project.
I found that the rotary valve was out of timing and it appears as a bolt got stuck and put a few dents in the rotary valve cover (already sent it in and got it resurfaced). It also took a tiny chuck of metal where the rotary valve meets the engine block. To confirm my suspicions I timed the rotary valve correct, put everything back and tried to start it with premix. It starts but dies really really after. I took everything apart and the rotary valve was now out of timing.
Is it safe to assume that the gear in the crankshaft is toast?
If so, should I get my entire engine rebuilt? Compression wasn't great also but was good enough (135 in one 130 in the other).
If so what service is the best?
