Just bought new battery and starter for 95 gtx (I believe 780 cc) and it’s cranking very slowly and sometimes just clicks. Does the motor need to be torn apart and gone through or does anyone have a suggestion on how to free up the pistons that are dragging?

do you have a known good solenoid in the ski currently? Aftermarket or oem starter? Does battery go below 12 when cranking?

Haven’t tested solenoid, oem starter from dealer but it’s doing the same thing as the original starter. Battery drops to almost 6v when cranking occurs

When you say "just bought" a battery, did you charge it first before installing on the ski?

I bought an AGM battery from autozone cause I work there and got a deal. It requires no additional charging because it’s AGM. Should I try charging and see what happens? It’s hard to believe that the battery is dead already though? They come charged out of the box

I've never trusted any new battery, AGM or gel, to be fully charged. If it sat in a warehouse/store for a few months is it still fully charged? A few weeks of sitting and my battery is too weak to start the ski.

Fully charge the battery and then try...

I have seen new batteries be bad. If you work at Autozone, charge it then load test it.
