Does anyone know where i can find the wiring diagram for a 1995 720 xp? I have a 5 amp fuse that keeps burning out? It is right on the grey electronic box ( MPEM). Any help would be appreciated.

The wiring diagram is in the service manual, if the 5amp. fuse keeps blowing it's most likely the MPEM, not good news.

Ok. That is too bad. I had hooked up this mpem with its entire fusebox before starting and my motor ran. No guages, no nothing. But with an on an off. Thing is i didn't note the weird wiring. Anyone know how i hook it up direct?

The Mpem wasn't plugged into the solenoid when I got it with the complete fusebox, and it worked. Some wires were cut-off (ie second black from left of box). And the ski ran. Just the lanyard and starter worked. All the same, it was running and a good alternative for now at least to know if the recently rebuilt top end has good compression. Thing is, I can't figure out the way it was wired. Does the explanation help? If I order another box and it blows again, I'm back to point zero.

If you found a way to power the solenoid, the ski can run without the mpem if the blk/red wire is pulled from the coil. However, there is no longer a rev limiter or a way to shut it off. normally when the mpem is bad, the black/red wire is grounded & will not let the engine fire.

The rev limters are very busy on the ski's every time the ski cavitates, skips over wake, etc. Your engine will for sure over rev & be damaged without it. Not to mention the safety of having the lanyard & stop switches working. that single wire controls the rev limiter & engine shut off's

You really need a working MPEM. I would get everything wired up correctly & start trouble shooting. Working MPEMS are not cheap, but there are really no other options. :(

When VTS houseings fail, they also can be cause of the 5amp blowing. Those vts wires are daisy-chained thru the gauges too.
Suggest you eliminate the vts harness (disconnect) and see if you problem goes away.
You can eliminate componets by reading your shop manual and testing each one per the directions in there.

Good point!

Thanks everyone. I'm most definitely not going to run the ski without the proper MPEM. One last question, should I bother fixing the MPEM with a compression of 110 and 125? I just installed new rings and gasket kit but still have bad compression. I am thinking my cylinder (1mm) are maybe due for another overhaul.
