1994 SPI won't turn over

Push the button and don't get anything. I did manage to get something when I crossed the solenoid terminals so I replaced the solenoid then nothing, so I pulled the starter off and put new brushes in it and cleaned it completely out, put it back on and nothing when you push the button. Help please :willy_nilly:

Check all the wires between the button and the MPEM. But... you may just have a roasted MPEM.

Test the start stop button. Unplug it, put test leads from the DVOM on it, have it set to owns, press the button. If it remains open the button is no good. If it closes and shows no resistance, the button is good.

It has separate start and stop buttons. The stop button seems to be fine it's normally closed then when pressed opens. Don't know how to test the start button as it is wired directly into the electronic box.

Disconnect the battery and back-pin the wires with needles where they plug into the e-box. Then use the needles for the location where to put the leads.

Take a sewing needle or a pin and put it into the plug from the the backside. The needle will make contact with the metal connection inside the plug and then you can use the leads of the DVOM to do the test.

tested buttons all test good stop button is 1 and 0 when pressed the other two are the opposite. Tested all leads coming out of the mpem and they seem to test out good too. i'm at a loss. Oh btw after rebuilding and reinstalling the starter jumping the solenoid cranks!!!
