Hello, need some ideas on this one. 1993 xp. has always started very quick. runs good. one day went to start it and did not immediately start. long cranks but would start. eventually stopped starting at all. was in the shop starting to trouble shoot and found out that if the start button is depressed with the tether off. then i push the tether button. it starts immediately. so this would be a normal start. put the tether on. push start button. and ride. new way is. hold start button. push tether button. engine starts. let go of starter button. press tether on and ride. occasionally. will go back to starting normal for a time. nothing is rewired. battery is charging. cranks good. 2 years old. the trim motor has been disconnect at the trim motor. shuts off normal. looking for ideas and possible harm from starting it this way. season is short so if it starts one way or the other we ride. still like the old stuff. thanks in advance.
