1993 seadoo gtx tech issue

I have a 1993 GTX blowing 5 amp fuse

As soon as you connect a battery the 5 amp fuse blows. there is a spark as you connect leads to battery like it is drawing power even without lanyard connected or without pressing starter button.

I bypassed wiring and starter works fine so does starter relay. 15 amp fuse is fine.

what could cause the 5 amp fuse to blow immediately before doing anything? would appreciate your help, thanks Howard

Have you jump started it lately???


There is one diode in the MPEM that will fry if it gets a voltage spike. There is a thread in the "How To" section on how to fix it.
