I have a 99 gtxrfi. 12v low is indicated. I have 40 to 70 volts 3 phase at three prong yellow wire plug in front of regulator/rectifier when revved. ohmage is within range .01 to 1 ohm. no shorts to ground from any yellow. after doing these tests and checking all fuses plus using dielectric grease on everything i replaced the RR. still have no voltage out of the red and black two wire plug from rr and digital readout comes back on after 15 minutes of operation. got me baffled and i'm a 38 year electrician. any thoughts.dan

You should have battery voltage going to the red wire that is going to the reg/rectifier. If not then the 20 amp regulator fuse in the rear electrical box is blown. Replace it and then recheck charging system voltage at battery when running.

12volt low

shouldn't i have 12 to 14 volts coming out of the regulator even with the red, black plug disconnected from the battery. ps all fuses in rear electric box are good.
