My buddy has an 1100 CC Kawasaki jet ski ....the engine compartment got full of water ...and not it will not start ....we drained all of the water out and took the seat off to dry the rest out.....it still won't start all....what should we do??? How do I fix this ....it was completely full of water ...but did not rollover or sink ....a bigger guy was trying to get on in shallow water and we think it got through under the seat .

GET IT RUNNING!

Pull the plugs, turn it over and get the water out and spray some fogging oil in there to help lub it. Put the plugs back in (dry or new ones preferred) and try to start, if not repeat. You can always put a little starter fluid in there to get it going, but remember no oil/lubercation.

Once it is going again, drive it for a least 30min to dry up any water. GL

Anyone can chim in if I miss something.

Main thing GET IT RUNNING!

yes... or you can even put in wd-40 (not as good). It will just help lub up the pistons and cylinder.

I hope you have the plugs out already and have been turning it over. Do that first before spraying anything into it.

I have been....how low should I do this for before I put newplugs in......I'm waiting for my boyfriends buddy to come with spray and new plugs ...

Remember don't hold the starter to long between runs, it has to cool down.

Did much water come out? When no more water is really coming out, that is when you want to try and start it again.

No wd-40 around? If he is far away still, you can try and blow on the plugs to make them dry, put them back in (if no more water is really coming out) and see if it will start.

Again... when water is in the engine, it is of utmost importance to get it running asap!

Okay its kinda just misting out droplets .....I'm gonna put old plugs in and try and give it a go should I spray water under her once she starts?

that's better... so ya water in the engine.

Once it is running, you have to use the flushing/water system. I don't know how the yamaha works, but I'm assuming similar to a seadoo where the engine has to get water to cool it. In short YES... to however you normally running it out of water.

But if it was me, once I got it running, take it to the lake and running it for 30 or more minutes.

If ALL the water isn't out of it, it will rust, and the engine will be done.

I have to run... so if it doesn't get going, hopefully others can help you out. GL.

If it isn't running by the time the guy comes with oil/wd-40, spray that in to the pistons to help lub/protect it and try the new plugs. GL

Thanks .....there is still enough water in there for it to foul the old plugs ...I'm still waiting on fog oil and new plugs ...
