Hi guys,

I hauled my 08 RXT's down to Fla.

Got into a bit of sand 2 times today and now have a surge/lack of top end/one machine has a slight whine to it.
Pretty much just not running as strong as usual???
Visual on the impeller looks fine.

Wondering if I have sand plugging the inter-coolers?

Your thought's???

You most likely will need a new wear ring. If you think you have sand blocking then innercooler then id say take it out and flush it but i dont think thats your problem. whats your rpm's at WOT? cause if there low then you could have a supercharger problem and if low STOP riding it. Also Make sure you get rid of the ceramic washers in the SC, replace them with metal ones from RIVA.

Thanks.....

was talking to a friend who sells parts for PWC and bikes and he also said wear ring. he also mentioned that the exhaust could plug with sand. Something about the older machines have clean out tubes.
I am betting wear ring.

I was down to Key Largo last weekend at what I thought was the actual Riva store.
They had a lot of very cool bikes and Sea Doos.

Spoke with the finance guy there and he was telling me about a stage 3 kit that got the RXT up into the mid 80 MPH range.
It hurts enough to fall off at 70 MPH much less mid 80's!!!

Did you ask him about your problem? also go back to riva and get the washes changed in your supercharger. If the ceramic ones fail it can blow your motor.

will do the wear rings down here in Fla.
The washers......approx how many hrs until failure?
I have 22-23 hrs on both machines now.
We do a lot of wave/wake jumping FYI.
Will change out the washers when I get home.

Was jumping some 6' waves on wed.
Pretty cool when you can do a slow count to three before coming down!!!
I bet the surf with sand in it didn't help the wear ring either.

Thanks for the help, Jim
