Hi all:

Have another question about my newly acquired '08 GTX-215 Limited - the F-N-R shift lever goes into forward and reverse just fine but won't stay in neutral (no detent). Is this normal, or should there be a detent to hold it in neutral until I shift into forward or reverse?

Thanks,

Keith

Normal....Mine will stay in with a bit of hunting for the sweet spot....takes practice. Outside of that....only time my hand ain't on the lever...I'm heading forward. If you're gonna be sitting for a while...just turn it off.

Yep yep,, no detent per-say.

As noted, I find a sweet spot and it works just fine. You will get use to it and find it very easy to do once you get use to it.

Even after finding the sweet spot, it can still just randomly decide to go either way to F or R. Better practice is just to keep your left hand on the lever and feather it back and forth.
