OK - guys, opinions please. How long can I/should I wait before flushing the engine after using in salt water. Can I wait 24 hours if I plan to use it in a fresh water lake the next day? The next week? What do you guys think?

Is it me or is it a PITA to reach the fresh water connect? Do they make some sort of quick connect for the boat?

Thanks,
Michaelb

Go to Home depot in the garden center and get the green hose adapters. There is a male fitting that goes on the black pipe fitting and the slide coupler goes on the hose. I suggest if your going to use it next day you should be ok...If you go a week it will start corroding the exhaust system pretty quick over time. I have my speedster on a lift in Brackish water...salt/ fresh lake mix ,and always flush after every trip out. Just 15-20 seconds does me just fine...

I also got the garden hose quick connect from a local home and garden center. works great. You would think $27k and BRP would throw one in.

I got 2 with my 200 speedster. All you have to do is ask, and the sales man will usually throw anything in to make the sale. If it isn't worth asking about, it isn't worth having ...

I bought a New Regal I/0 ,back in 1993...I got a full coastguard kit and full cockpit covers and a bimini for free just before I signed my name. I figured I got over $1000.00 worth of goodies, before buying it.

Thanks guys - I've heard 1-3 days as well. I'll just be on the safe side and flush it unless I intend to hit the lake the next day (like today).
