Hello All, I've been away too long...

I will be sending a pair of SC's to JG in the next day or so. I have his site bookmarked and the step by step SC removal thread copied and ready to go. I have heard here and there that having Jerry put in viton seals as well is a good way to go, so I have those ordered along with the kits. Any suggestions beyond the viton's that any of you would recommend that I am overlooking?
The disassembly sequence looks pretty straight forward. Any gremlins in there to keep an eye out for?

Thanks up front for your help and advise

Hey Red, Good to see your still about.

Well since you asked about the '08 upgrade ... I suppose I'll be modifying my order lol. I think I missed that class. Why will I be doing the 08 vs. the 07?

Back when the '08's first came out...the shaft had what appeared to be an extra oil port. Supposedly it was to increase oil flow to the front bearings. That...and the new washers were essentially the "big change". In the past year or so I've since heard that that "port" isn't what it was theorized to be....still haven't received an adequate(sp?) response...from anyone what the straight poop is...go figure.

All full rebuild kits are "upgraded". Pretty much what I was trying to ask....hopefully you weren't just planning on a washer swap?

Both rides will be getting full rebuilds. It's all original equipment on both units. One has 80 hrs, other has 70. Once the rebuilds are done I'll be heading back into the archives to review the thread regarding your air intake and grate recomendations. As well as some other bolt on goodies.
By the way, where is SML ? if you dont mind my asking.

Would love to be putting in right now. Seen pics of the shore line...the contrast between desert and water......nice.

Bumping my own here...relevent though

Got held up on the removal, finally gave them to UPS on 6/27. Jerry got em 7/3. I got em back 7/11. Reinstalled 7/12. Time for a test ride.
Is there a break in period to consider, or just go play? (No response from JG and I dont wanna wait :drool5:)
I purchased some T-bolt clamps to replace the throttle body hose oem's. I saw some threads sharing the scare when the worm type clamps gave 'way in mid run...no thanks! Anyhow, is there a recomended torque value to these T types or is it just common sense mechanically tight?
All else is good to go...getting excited to get em back on the water. The River run up through Black Canyon to the base of Hoover Dam is calling me...what a ride!

No real break in period that I'm aware of. Those t clamps just go on gutentight! They can break if you over tighten them.
