I just wanted a quick opinion from everybody.

I can get my 07 RXP 215 winterized at the dealer for $200 CAD.

First does this seem like a reasonable price?

The reason I would like to go this route is to ensure that everything is done right. I don't plan on doing my own oil changes which is included in the price, along with a new set of spark plugs. Makes sense to get it all done once as opposed to winterizing it myself and then driving to the dealership (200km/125mile round trip) for an oil change at the beginning of next season.

Do you guys agree??

Matt

I 100% agree with you. I am doing the same thing but the guy down here in Mass charged $100 for winterization and he does a through check over of everything, changes the coolant, plugs, jet pump oil and checks the impeller and wear ring. I think that is a great deal for $100. It is crazy the Canadian dollar is now worth more than the American dollar.

Ya i know...i should drive accross the border...im only 30mins away....my dealer is about an hour away, but I love them! There are two much closer but not nearly as thorough as this guy. Mine also includes all the normal winterization stuff such as fogging and wear ring/impeller checks...I just wish prices over here would adjust to reflect the value of our dollar. We have to head south accross the board to get the deals!

Winterization

Last year the Rogers, Ar dealer charged me $184 inc tax for oil change/winterization. Yesterday, the new(successor) Seadoo dealer in Springdale, Ar. quoted me $340 for the same service-- I guess I'll go with a different brand next time if the $340 quote is correct..

Winterize.......

It sounds like ya'll are finding some good prices for winterizing. The CAD of $200 sounds reasonable, with all the work they state they are going to do, plus, like you said, it's down right. Plus, it frees you up for other things.

The price Dan got for $100 bucks is un-heard of. That was a really great price!......but now the $350 is the norm......which is totally absurd.

The last statement about the anti-freeze....yes, it's part of the process. But the 4-TEC's engine is already protected by coolant, it's a closed loop system. The open loop system, which is in the exhaust and part of the cooling system for the intercooler, does need to have a little anti-freeze flushed through it.

The link for winterizing is also a pretty thorough set of instructions, though we have basically the same ones here in the forum, under winterizing. The procedures for the 2 and 4 stroke engines are here.

For those that want to do it yourself, if you got a few tools, it's not that hard to do.

For those that live in the South, like me, you don't have to do it at all!........

burrrrr its getting colder

still a bit confused about winterizing how do I get the antifreeze into the system? It's getting colder here in the NORTH. I checked the link but still don't get it. My dealer tags me atleast $150.00 for the service I can't believe it's that difficult. Please don't just protect the dealer give me some real advice.

Would if I could..........

I would if I could, but you don't have your year, make or model in your avatar. Just that you own seadoo.

Not all winterizing processes are the same. I've posted announcements and threads in every part of this forum for memebers to understand how hard it is to diagnose or give you advice, when we have no idea what type Seadoo you even have.............Hopefully, I'll get back to this thread before it freezes. But hey, $150 is a good price compared to what I'm hearing others being charged around the country.
