So I did a bonehead thing while flushing my pwc and shut the the motor off while the water was running and got water in the cylinders. I have removed the water and now need to change the oil and filter... what else needs to be done???

Here's the bigger issue,
The water was in there for approx 1 year since the last time I took it out :-( I feel like such a bonehead. The pwc has 12hrs on it. Everything else is in pristine order.

I was going to do the ten hr service before the next trip out, which was going to be tomorrow but that's not going to happen...

Man I feel stupid... :-(

Lots of XPS Lubricant

I buy JetLube 769. Remove the plugs and spray a lot in cylinders. Take loose air intake near throtle body and spray XPS into air intake while cranking. Spray XPS everywhere. Cover the plug holes loosely with a towel to catch the flying lubricant while cranking. I would perform this operation several times while installing and removing the plugs (force lube through exhaust when plugs are in). I would probably use cheap motor oil and suck out all all oil, change filter. After going through the above procedure with the XPS, I would change the oil again. After you get it running I would change the once or twice more.

thanks 99

I sucked out the crap that was in the cylinders today and got it to turn over with out cranking.

Funny thing was I was gonna try to get it to crank up and then real quick shut it off , and when I hooked up the plug wires it would not turn over. Not 30 seconds beforehand it wound over just fine with the plug wires undone. Weird.

Well, Tuesday I'll go down to the motorsports shop and get two or three oil filters and talk to them some more about this situation.

Anyways, thanks 99 again and I still want to here anything else the hive thinks about this...

Update...

I managed to get all the grud cleaned out today and got her to crank up for a second. Thank God everything so far has been fairly smooth. I will be getting the oil and filters tomorrow in preperations for however many oil changes it takes to get all the water out as outlined above...
Stay tuned will update as I progress along. Lord knows I've said a few prayers throughout this ordeal...

Update 7-15-10

Been busy but i changed the oil twice last night. The oil that came out after the first time still looked very milky and thin, the oil that came out the second time looked a little better but still milky. :banghead: By that time the motor had warmed up a bit and it was getting late so I went ahead and changed the filter and let it sit over night.

I am hoping more oil and water will have dripped down into the pan and I can suck that out when I get home before I fill it with more oil. I am hoping that I wont have to change it too many more times before it all comes out.

As always I'm always interested in what other members think from an outside point of view. Will update again soon...

Hit it with oil from every direction

Don't forget to continue using XPS spray into the plug holes and air intake. Keep changing the oil until there is no more milkiness. I would probably even heavy dose the gas in the tank with Marvel Mystery Oil.

That's a $4K - $5K motor

Hate to say it

But many would work it until it was running strong and.......... sell that sucker! while it is still the middle of the summer.
