Hey Guys,
I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this. Sometimes when I would put the boat in the water, I put the DESS key on the post (2 short beeps) and start. It will start up and then about 5 seconds later, long beep and limited RPM. I pull the key off and put it back on and it would start and go. This issue has been getting worse and worse to the point on this past weekend where I would put the key on and it wouldn't even do the 2 short beeps without really monkeying around with the key (twist, push, pull, hold your tongue just right)
The other funny part is that it only seems to do it when the boat first gets in the water, once it finally runs properly, I can go all day without issue.
I can only assume this issue is a problem with the key or the post. Is there anyway to determine or isolate whether it is the key or the post that needs replaced?
If I swap the post out, do I need to reprogram? or is that only if I want a new key? This would be a dealer only reprogramming I assume.
