06 GTI Mirrors

Ok, So I have a question. I have did alot of searching about this, but have not found to much information. I have a 2006 gti standard. Sea-doo makes a mirror kit that you can have put on these, it comes with a bracket and the 2 mirrors and hardware. Of course I would have to assume that I would need to drill a few holes on each side. But I was wondering if anyone on here has done this before and has any pointers. Just by looking I believe I would have to remove the gauges and some of that top part to get the bracket in...how hard would that be? I do have a shop manual that I have been looking thru.

And just so you know, I am looking to add the mirrors for towing, and im not to sure I trust the local dealer doing this project for me. Thanks.

I actually have not yet. I just haven't had much time lately and didn't feel like tearing anything up. I see that your profile says you are from birmingham...im just a little south of you down in tuscaloosa, and I definitely learned to order the parts online.
