04 RXP running on two cylinders

For the last year my 04 RXP will sputter and run on two cylinders periodically. The strange thing is that this only happens after towing the SeaDoo distance. Normally I use the SeaDoo at the cottage with no issue but when I bring it back to the city or tow it to take a trip once dropped back in the water it will often sputter, only go 30 mphish (normal is about 66mph) and run on two cylinders for 10 minutes or so. When it is returning back to normal it starts to kick in and out of normal acceleration until it is 100% normal. Last year we dropped into Georgian Bay and toured the SeaDoos for 500 miles up Georgian Bay and up the Trent Severn Canal system over several days and not once did it act up.

What worries me is that I will be hundreds of miles from home off on a SeaDoo trip and then this will cause a major problem.

Any ideas?

I'm not a 4-Tec guy, but I thought they were 3 cylinders, so you're probably running on 2 cylinders. If you know what cylinder is dropping out change the spark plug, and switch the coil pack with another cylinder.

Yes sorry I meant two cylinders.

I have replaced the spark plugs but I will try the coil pack.

Thanks!

Replace the plugs and make sure your getting spark on all 3 cylinders. Then do a compression check down the line. Last, make sure each injector is working
