I am doing some work for a guy that I know on his 04 GTX S/C. He purchased it not running and the dealer told him he needed to replace the fuel baffle and starter solenoid. Well the fuel baffle came in ( he got a whole used unit on ebay ), anyways at the bottom of the box I found 1 of these rubber plugs. I cant tell if it belongs to the baffle or if it is just a random part that was in the box.

I also got the new solenoid but went to install it and it seems like the old one is missing. I am pretty sure it does not matter what post the 2 pairs of red wires connect to on the solenoid but just wanted to be sure.

Fuel baffle? Do you mean the fuel pump? I don't see a baffle in the parts manual. What is the part number? From the parts manual, those look like locator pins that go on the bottom of the fuel pump, but I've never replaced one of those ... only guessing. Look for indentations in the bottom of the tank that line up with the pump.

With the solenoid installed, the upper wire goes to the battery.

The solenoid your showing in the pic above is for the 02 4tec which is very different than the 04. It doesn't matter which terminal you put the red cables on but you do have to make sure the small accessory red wire is on the battery supply side(most 4tecs have them attached at the connector so it is not a problem).

The small rubber piece is one of the 3 rubber feet that go on the bottom of the pump that push into the 3 small cylinders.

ok thanks, thats what I thought. I just dont work on 4tecs enough to know and this one is all torn a part making it difficult.

Sorry about that PWGSX. I have the '04 picture, but I can't attach it for some reason. Guess I've used up my quota of pictures.
