Hi, this is my first post here.

I found a great deal on a 2003 GTX Supercharged with 90 hrs for 4300 including trailer and cover. However, I recently spoke with a dealer at a local store and he talked about the rebuild that needs to be done around the 100 hour mark. He said this would run around 400-500. I didn't know this and up until then I figured this would be a great buy. Just wondering if someone can explain what needs to be done and if this is the appropriate price for a rebuild. Should it be done right at 100 hrs, or could I use it the rest of this year before getting it done? I've never had a pwc before..we currently have a 2000 challenger which I love. I was looking at some older GTI's and it seemed that everyone thought they were kind of boring with only 110 hp.

Thanks a bunch

The rebuild refers to the supercharger ceramic washers... You can check out my threads on this or others, there are many threads about this .

thanks...i didn't notice how many posts there were about this.

would it be very bad if i opted to wait a little while before getting this done, as in the end of this summer? i probably won't put a ton of hours on it anyways as i have to go back to school late august and i don't get up to the lake much anyways. it seems that this problem contributes to a lack of speed. i'm not really looking to go over 55 mph anyways really. if i decided to get this done later would this possibly damage anything permanently? like i said the boat has 90 hrs on it now.

thanks again

The ceramic washer's shatter and go into the oil pan and then into the oil pump. The price depends on whether they update the sc to 08' kit or just replace the washers. The rebuild kit cost me 274.00 alone , but it contains everything .

I've been quoted $600-$700 from 3 sources to rebuild the SC.

Rebuild is more than just changing the ceramic washers out and includes a new shaft, bearings, etc and retensions the SC clutch pressure. It is recommended you have this done at 100hrs even if you have metal washers. One dealership told me 150hours but then conceded 100 hours would be better. If you have ceramic washers have it done now before the 100 hours.

Good luck with the new ski!
