I am trying to find the location on the motor for the oil pressure sensors on the 951 DI. I have read the service manual cover to cover at this point and I can only find a small snippet in the troubleshooting section that even mentions an oil pressure sensor(s). I could not even find them listed within the wiring diagram. Was hoping to get some insight.

The ski is throwing low oil and the "MAINT" messages. The only tricky part is it is very much intermittent. Even some occasions it has put the ski into the limp mode, but this does not happen every time. I have not been able to replicate it out on the water, it quite literally just comes and goes at random. I tried to do a little research on other people having these issues, all I could really find were the issue with 4-tec models, now I know why. I have already replaced the oil level sensor within the oil tank to rule that out as a possibility. Since it is very much intermittent, I am sort of leaning towards either the rectifier because I know that is somewhat of the achilles heel of the 2 stroke DI, or the battery is just on its way out.

You absolutely have to have a good strong battery on these or they will do a lot of weird stuff.

The oil light is just a dummy float in the oil tank, literally a idiot light. It has nothing to do with the ski running. Just telling you that the tank is getting low.

I am leaning towards either the rectifier or battery simply because the motor itself only has about 40 hours on it, so I find it highly unlikely that there would be any serious engine issues that would cause the limp mode to be activated.

You really need to read the code to figure out why. A CanDoo is a good tool to own if you plan on long term ownership of a DI. Throwing parts at DI's gets expensive in a hurry.

DI's are very sensitive to voltage drops,,,The reg could be your solution.,,,also, when the fuel pumps start to go, they draw more amperage and will also produce a 12 V maintenance light,
