03 GTI LE Cavitation????

So my 03 GTI LE is running great but small problem at idle???

When at idle seems to be having trouble staying running and will usually die (in water).
Also, will actually rattle the storage hood, cavitation??

Does this mean I need a new wear ring, or a sign of some other problem?

Was planning on making wear ring and pump oil change my winter project, should I not wait?

At idle there is no cavitation as you are not really taking off, it could be that the idle is just too low.....what is it set at? About 1500-1700 rpm is good.

Cavitation is noticed when taking off at WOT and the ski revs but has little speed.
Your problem could also be weeds on the shaft causing an "unbalanced shake down"

Was wondering about idle setting. I have a tto-tac on order for just this reason.
