03 4tech gtx super charger

hello everybody,thanks for help in advance,
hooked up hose started the unit as normal warming it up to change oil all was fine then all of a suden motor started making real weird noise rpms jump up then down shut it off proceded to change oil filter plugs etc (oil level was fine before) did not start up right away but it did start and ran not rough but not smooth either hit the gas silghtly and seemed like it was under load and making a winning noise did not sound right done same process since it was new.there is 78 hours on unit help
 
I moved your post to the troubleshooting area. You posted in the "meet and greet" section.

From your description, sounds like you have a supercharger issue. Might be time for a rebuild. Though, your only showing 78 hours on your clock, it's a bit over 8 years old. You can't look at simply hours, but how long it's sat through seasons, heating up and cooling off. That makes a difference, especially if it were outside in the extreme temp changes.

Also, are you still running ceramic washers in your SC? They no longer use these because they would dissolve and come apart while riding, tearing up your motor.

If you feel it's under a load, whining when running, it could be the SC or you could be seeing the signs of a motor close to seizing. There isn't a lot a "shade tree" mechanic can do to these motors except replace broken parts because all changes or modifications to the operation of the motor is done through a computer........
 
just a side question how do you know when the super charger is out will it still run is there any test for this(make noise etc) sorry if i posted this in the wrong section as i am new to the board
