I have been lurking here for a little while and searching but I cant find the answers I'm looking for. I just bought an 02 RXDI and it fires up good on the trailer and runs good but in the water it runs for just a minute and shuts off. so online I go trying to find out how to work on this thing and I end up here.
My first question is how are people checking the air pressure to the fuel rail? I found posts on checking the fuel pressure and I see some people cut the line and add a tee and some use a spare line just for testing, but I haven't found anything about testing air pressure.
My second question is about the rave valves. I was checking compression and one cylinder was around 120 and the other is at 100 so I looked inside with a bore scope and notice the cylinder was scared up where the rave valve is. I pulled the rave valve and it has been hitting the piston. I believe this is a stock engine that has never been into so I don't know how this is possible.
I know I need to redo the top end but I still need to try and find out if that is the only issue before I tear it down.
Thanks for any help you can give,
Rodney
