I'm a newbie to the forum between a rock and a hard place that could use some comment/recommendations.
After a day's worth of use on the lake, I attempted to start my Di for another ride. The normal "beep-beep" did not occur. What occured was no beep and what sounded like the fuel pump priming for a few seconds and then shutting off. This same sound can be generated by pressing the "start/stop" button. The cluster display flashes "MAINT" while the key is engaged and a small red light to the left of the "MAINT" warning is illuminated. The engine does not crank.
The battery is new and the connections are clean & tight. What I did find was the 15A (blue) fuse at the MEPM is blown (most forward fuse in a block of four). I replaced the fuse, I got the double "beep" and the ski started without problem. This lasted that run cycle; once shut off the vehicle would not restart and I was back to the original symptoms.
Off to the SeaDoo dealer, where a slightly corroded fuel injector connector was found. The connector was cleaned & the 15A fuse was replaced followed by a 15 minute test run. Unfortunately, the repair order has the statement "no problem found" (which equates to, problem still there).
The ski was returned to me and driven (started and stopped 4 times) without
difficulty. Following these starts, I took the ski out and "aired it out" . At wide open throttle, from a dead start, the ski pulled hard to about 50-53 MPH on the meter, then a engine power shut off very much like I hit the "start/stop" button. All of the original symptoms were back. I was towed back to shore and the vehicle is presently back in the hands of the SeaDoo dealer.
I'm hopeful that I'm not up against a costly repair. Any ideas as to my possible failure would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to repair my ski not cheaply, but in the most cost-effective method possible.
Your help is appreciated.
